I was not sure of this photo when I took it. The light was hot and I wasn't sure I could get a color that was not blown out. But I played with it and I am OK with it. I liked the texture of the plants.....

Busy day on the water in Jupiter. Not quite as fancy as South Beach, but fun, never less. This was taken at lunch today after our house inspection..... I think even the birds where enjoying the weather today also!

How fun are these!! Not sure what they are, but they look soooo fluffy and happy. I like how the sun shines on the middle flower.... It is all about lighting, isn't it...

I love how the light shimmers on the delicate fringe petals of these tulips!

Nothing like beautiful gardens. This was taken at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas... Their gardens are amazing.

I really can't say why this one spoke to me, but it did, so I thought I would throw it out here...

Granite. I love the pattern in this and I tried to follow some lines of the piece from top to bottom, while cropping it. It seems to glow from within.........

3/24/10 Cala Lilies

I love that Cala Lilies grow like weeds around here, as these are in my yard. I find them tricky to photograph. The main point is to find one that looks perfect, which is always difficult, too.

3/23/10 Cherry Blossoms

The Cherry blossoms have finally arrived, the best but last to arrive of the flowering trees in my yard! The wind will soon have its way with these delicate blossoms, but right now they are in full bloom!

3/22/10 Sierra Sping

Looking across the cattle range to the Sierra foothills, you could see the huge fields of mustard flowers today. Then the clouds rolled around making these shadows across the landscape.

3/21/10 Bridalveil Falls

Bridalveil Falls is gorgeous at this time of year becasue it is so full of water, as the spring run off begins.

3/20/10 Tabletop Mountain

Tabletop Mountains are a range of mountains in the gold country of California. They are all flat topped, which is of course where it gets its name.

Star Island.... Gotta love the houses and boats in this very exclusive gated community. I can only get photos of it from one of the causeways.

This painted Coca-Cola billboard is a Petaluma landmark and the building it adorns one of the town's oldest.

3/18/10 White Lilacs

I spotted this white lilac at the Garden Valley Nursery. Even though the roses are not blooming quite yet, they had plenty of other beautiful spring flowers like these lovely lilacs. Martha Stewart taped a show at this nursery with its rose gardens a couple years ago. They do have the best roses!

3/17/10 Ranunculus

I just planted some Ranunculus in my garden, as I do every year because I love their bright colors!

3/16/10 Cows and Oak Tree

The cows really seem to like this tree, whose branches twist and turn along the ground. While I was hanging out with them, one of the cows scratched himself on one of the low branches. Handy little backscratcher!

Miami skyline with the cruise ships. I let Andi pick this one out of the 5 I had for today.

3/15/10 California Poppies

I'm so glad that the days are longer now! I had time to go for a walk at the park after work today, where I saw these great poppies! This means spring is coming and wildflowers will soon be everywhere!

3/14/10 Oyster Point

Shortly after taking this picture of Tomales Bay, we were happily eating fresh Tomales Bay oysters down the road at Tony's. This is not really called oyster point, but it is where all the oyster farms are. The name of the boat in the foreground is "Hoysters" , as it is the Hog Island Oyster Company's boat.

3/13/10 Drake's Bay

Finally, a nice day of shooting! Went out to Point Reyes National Seashore and visited Drake's Bay, which has these gorgeous sandstone cliffs. I was not totally happy with my shots, especially because I screwed up using the polarizing filter on this set. But thankfully, I was able to go back the next day and try it again!

I was waiting for a bridge to open and looked out the window and saw this shot, which I thought was fun. I love the way the buildings show thru the little triangles and with the Blimp up in the air.

Downtown Miami............ I liked that this photo shows this house being built with the big office buildings in the back. I chose to believe that maybe this economy is turning around. At least I hope soooooooooooooooo!
