Remembering how great the mustard flowers were at this spot last year, I went to see how they are so far this January. I will go back in a couple more weeks when there are more. But I actually liked how the telephone poles in the background offered some perspective to this image, traveling toward the distant mountains. In a recent landscape workshop I attended with Lance Kuehne, he showed us how you can use just about anything in your image, even roadside signs and other man made objects. Previously, I would have thought the the poles ruined the picture. But I am seeing things a bit differently now and won't be so quick to reject the occasional man made object in my au natural landscapes.
