Gotta love these mop headed blooms!

4/28/10 McNear Buildling

Snapped this pic of the McNear building, built in 1886, on my way to the hairdresser's today. Today it houses mostly professional offices on the upper floors, and a theatre and bar on the other side, where many musicians put on their shows. For example, I saw Todd Rundgren play there last year.

4/27/10 Iris Drops

Rain showered our spring flowers yet one more time!

This hotel is so beautiful. But as hard as I try to take photos of it's beauty, they are never good enough! So, I guess we just have to meet here one day and enjoy it together!!!

4/26/10 Peach Iris

Still working on those irises, especially after I spotted this lovely specimen at the Garden Valley Nursery. I liked the peach color on this iris, the colors were magnificent!

4/25/10 Busy Bee

I was sitting next to these coral bells on my deck, watching this bee gorge himself on every single blossom.

4/24/10 Poppies and Vines

Remember last year when we shot these vines after we went to Ferrari Carrano? Well, I was thinking that the poppies should be blooming there again right now, and so I got Craig to drive up there with me yesterday. We went to the exact spot, here are the poppies. But Craig was kind of skeptical that we should be basically taking these shots and parking in someone's driveway and back yard, since this was not really a public vineyard. I kept telling him it was absolutely fine!

04/25/10

Inside The Brown Palace, Denver Colorado. The Brown Palace is this old hotel in downtown Denver built in 1872. It is sooooo beautiful. The lighting, the rod iron banisters and staircases under a Tiffany glass roof. I could live here!!!

Once again, shooting and driving. Proabably not a good idea! But better than drinking and driving!!!! Well, maybe not! I might actually take the time to pull over and shoot if I had been drinking!

4/20/10 More Lilacs

Another lilac started blooming in my garden. And I'm finally getting caught up on my photos after the weekend at the cabin! I decided not to download them until I got home. But I will not do that again because I then realized that I had a big black dust spot on my sensor after the first day. Had I downloaded and viewed my photos that day, I would have seen the dust and cleaned the sensor before the next day of shooting.

4/19/10 Bearded Iris

I have been photographing these iris at my office almost every day and am never happy with them. I find iris extremely hard to photograph well. I kinda liked the angle and composition on this one, although it could be sharper. And the light could be better. Oh well.

4/18/10 Robin

This was taken from the back deck at the cabin, where I was sitting and watching this robin scoot in and out of the long afternoon shadows from all the oak trees.

4/17/10 Yosemite Falls from the Merced River

Yosemite Falls is really full of water right now, as you can see it clearly all the way across Yosemite Valley from this vantage point along the Merced River.

I saw these at the grocery store and just fell in love with them! Such a pretty color and so delicate!

We stopped at Cuvaison Winery on the way up to the cabin, where the evening sunlight was highlighting the vines and the little pond behind.
